Famous Computer Village, Ikeja-Nigeria.

The business activities going on in Lagos has generated a lot of interests from many quarters. The city is so crowded tat one wonders how people make both ends meet.
A look at some of he business outlets may make one to wonder if these sellers make sales at the end of the day. But a deeper look will reveal that they do make money. According to one trader, who pleads for anonymity, they do get their daily bread. In her words, “my brother if I tell you the amount wey I dey make here as you see me so, you no go believam”

Boutiques are in every corner in Lagos and they all boost of high customers patronage. Another one is business centres which are also every where. They all make money that one cannot even imagine.

Computer village however remains one of the greatest places of business in Lagos. Here a lot of people make their livings both in sun and in the rain. It has been proved that the village is regarded as the king in the sales of computer and handset both in quality and in best price ever in the continent of Africa.

However, one has to be very careful while buying such goods there because of the hoodlums who can steal money from consumers by giving them fake goods. According to Silvier, a PGD student of NIG, who happens to be a victim, ‘you must me careful not to fall a victim’
Nevertheless, the village has been a source of livelihood to many a Nigerian homes

MURTALA MUHAMMED INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:THE PRIDE OF THE NATION.

God bless Nigeria! Lagos State is the no 1 commercial city in Nigeria and in African continent. This fact is epitomised by the busiest airport in the continent- MMIA IKEJA.

AIRLINES IN OPERATION.

Many airlines operate in this airport. Some are on daily basis and some on selected days of the week. Those on the daily operation include one of the leading airlines Fly Emirate,British Airways,Air France, Virgin Nigeria,Bellview and others.

Leading the ones that operate on chosen days include South African Airways, Iberia, Italia, Quartar and others. In total, about 21 airlines operate at the airport.

DIVISIONS OF THE AIRPORT.
There are many divisions of the airport and they include the Entrance, car park( visitors, staff, and commercial), Departure Hall, Arrival Halls E and D, Boarding Gate, tamac, Baggage hall and the craft ruuways.

THE ENTRANCE
This is the main gate that leads to the main building of the airport. It is marshalled by Faan Security who does security checking before one can enter inside the building.

DEPARTURE HALL
This is also referred as the checking counter. All the airlines do their checking in of passengers here. Passport profiling, baggage screening and issuing of boarding pass are done here.

ARRIVAL HALLS D AND E
This is where in bound passengers collect their luggages on arrival. E aarival is located at the left side of the airport whereas the D arrival islocated at the right of the airport.Families and friends of the passengers also wait for their loved onesat this place. But the commonest people here are the bussiness men and women as well as traders. They are mostly from the South East of the NAtion. Goods on arrival are sent to major markets and warehouses in Lagos and then to Aba.

this is the gate that leads to the door of the craft. The final checking is done here toensure that there is no illegal passenger on board the airline. From here, the passengers proceed straight to the plane.

TARMAC
This is a restricted area. Only people with green and red ODC and with reflective jacket can enter here. It is where the planes are packed. the security here is on top gear to make sure the crafts are protected from any form of attack.

Is Change of Name the Solution?

Recently, the Nigeria Football Association NFA changed its nomenclature to
Nigeria Football Federation NFF.According to its chairman Sani Lulu, the step
was taken in order to make the association look like its counterpart all over
the globe.

It is of common knowledge that the level of football
development in this country has nosedived and one wonders how this change of
name will solve the mess. Football stakeholders are calling for proper and
thorough professionalism by the association chieftains so that we can move
forward and instead of them changing their mediocre mentality, they are busy
pursuing shadow. According to an Igbo proverb, he whose house is on fire does
not pursue rat. What actually are these big for nothing “idiocrats” doing…

Food for Thought

What is the hope of Nigeria considering the nonchallant attitude of our present political leaders?
It seems that the shouts and cries of the masses do not reach or touch them. How can this age long tradition be broken?

The sound of war, war, war ...
Not tribal but the oppressed vrs the aristocrats
Femi osofisan's drama Morotuodun may be the mirror

Suggest for our food for thought before it is too cold to eat...
