Many airlines operate in this airport. Some are on daily basis and some on selected days of the week. Those on the daily operation include one of the leading airlines Fly Emirate,British Airways,Air France, Virgin Nigeria,Bellview and others.
Leading the ones that operate on chosen days include South African Airways, Iberia, Italia, Quartar and others.In total, about 21 airlines operate at the airport.
DIVISIONS OF THE AIRPORT.
There are many divisions of the airport and they include the Entrance, car park( visitors, staff, and commercial), Departure Hall, Arrival Halls E and D, Boarding Gate, tamac, Baggage hall and the craft ruuways.
THE ENTRANCE
This is the main gate that leads to the main building of the airport. It is marshalled by Faan Security who does security checking before one can enter inside the building.
DEPARTURE HALL
This is also referred as the checking counter. All the airlines do their checking in of passengers here. Passport profiling, baggage screening and issuing of boarding pass are done here.
ARRIVAL HALLS D AND E
This is where in bound passengers collect their luggages on arrival. E aarival is located at the left side of the airport whereas the D arrival islocated at the right of the airport.Families and friends of the passengers also wait for their loved onesat this place. But the commonest people here are the bussiness men and women as well as traders. They are mostly from the South East of the NAtion. Goods on arrival are sent to major markets and warehouses in Lagos and then to Aba.
BOARDING GATE.
this is the gate that leads to the door of the craft. The final checking is done here toensure that there is no illegal passenger on board the airline. From here, the passengers proceed straight to the plane.
TARMAC
This is a restricted area. Only people with green and red ODC and with reflective jacket can enter here. It is where the planes are packed. the security here is on top gear to make sure the crafts are protected from any form of attack.
